Wedding Photography Decisions

As people, we tend to try to cling to every moment of joy as long as we can. Technology has been able to add to our ability to hold on to the moments of joy in our lives through photography. One of the most important joys in life is, of course, the wedding. Wedding photography is so important to most of us because we want to forever capture the joyous moment when we came together with our spouse in a forever bond to change both lives for the better. Once we have these pictures in our computers, we can share them with friends and family all over the world right now, and in future generations. Your wedding photography captures your life at a time when it is full of hopeful uncertainty about a future that will be spent with the person of your dreams.

Perhaps all of this great emphasis on capturing the most important joy in life makes weddings the only time in life when many people will ever consider hiring a professional photographer. After all, you only have your wedding once and then the moment is gone. If the moment is not perfectly caught on that day, it will be forever be little more than fading memories with no quality images attached.

It is important that the groom and bride come to an agreement over when the wedding photography will be done. They can think of it as a chance to start working on their cooperative decision making skills. Such decisions must be made such as whether to have the bulk of the wedding photography done before the wedding ceremony or after the wedding ceremony. For the superstitious, resistance will be made to having the wedding photography done before the ceremony, with the groom seeing the bride before the wedding. But even if this is the case, all of the family wedding photography can be done before the wedding, except for the pictures of and with the actual groom and bride together.

For those without superstition, the decision is usually that the pictures should be taken before the wedding. It is very difficult to gather everyone together as the ceremony is closing. Many people leave and don't show up at the reception. And, guests often get anxious when left to wait at the reception for an hour or more as the groom and bride have their pictures taken after the wedding. It is so much easier to just start the wedding service with wedding photography, including all of the group photos and posed bride and groom photos. Then the wedding photographer is free to shoot candid wedding photography throughout the rest of the wedding and reception. This often helps get a lot more natural shots of the wedding, as well as the usual array of posed wedding photography before the wedding.

If doing the wedding photography before the wedding ceremony is just too much hassle, your guests will just have to be understanding of the inconveniences as you go through the wedding. It is not really that big of a deal because many weddings are done with the bulk of wedding photography taken after the ceremony.
